# Can I plug a substrate probe directly into the Grow Sensor?
Yes, if your substrate probe comes with a standard 3.5mm jack, you can plug it directly into the Grow Sensor—no adapter required.
The sensor will automatically detect supported probes and start displaying readings such as EC, moisture, and temperature (depending on the probe model) in the Grow App.\

If your probe doesn’t include a 3.5mm jack, you’ll need a Grow Sensor Connector Cable to interface with the device.
This cable is designed to make other probe types compatible with the sensor and ensure accurate data transmission.
